Non-contact infrared thermometers measure thermal radiation.

Please note that radiated heat does fluctuate plus there are various skin types and thickness.

To take forehead or temple temperature:

 - Keep the unit about 1 inch from the skin.

 - For best measurement, take 3 readings 3 to 5 seconds apart of the same area and keep the highest one as the best reading.

Most of our non-contact infrared thermometers have the capability for the user to adjust the temperature reading ("Total Difference/Variation").

The thermometer calibration is factory-set. In cases of different skin types and thickness plus seasonal or environmental changes, a verification with another thermometer and then adjustment should be carried out.
